Representative Cases:

 

August 2007. Represent Father & Husband in divorce and custody action. Wife wanted Sole Managing Conservatorship and demanded Client pay $550 in Child Support. After hearing, Husband awarded outright all the personal property, parties were appointed Joint Managing Conservators, a 50/50 visitation schedule and child support ordered at $250 and the Children were ordered to remain at the elementary school that is 5 minutes from Client’s home. Complete victory for client.

August 2007. Represent Wife in divorce action. At mediation, Client was awarded $30,000, a 7 year leaseback on the marital residence (which was Husband’s separate property) until the last child turned 18, Husband was ordered to pay Children’s car payments, Children’s health care expenses, home repairs and maintenance, and all expenses (mortgage, taxes, insurance etc) on the Home in addition to $1,800 monthly in Child Support.

July 2007. Represented Father in custody suit. Father awarded Sole Managing Conservatorship over 3 month old daughter.

July 2007. Represented Wife. Husband attempted to make claim to Wife’s condominium in divorce action and sought cash judgment of $6,000. Condominium was purchased during marriage, but near the time of separation and on borrowed funds from parents. At divorce, Wife awarded condominium outright. Husband was awarded nothing as cash. Complete victory for Wife.

July 2007. Represented father where Mother of child refused to return their daughter to him for summer visitation. Obtained Writ of Attachment from Court. Child returned to father within 4 days.

June 2007. Divorce Trial. Alleged wife claimed common law marriage in order to claim community property interest in client's investment properties. At trial, court dismissed all of the alleged wife's allegations, denied her claim of common law marriage and ordered her to vacate our client's property by August 1, 2007. Alleged wife sought sole managing conservatorship, alimony, and child support above guidelines. Client (Dad) awarded Joint Managing Conservatorship, standard possession schedule, and standard child support. Complete victory for client

June 2007. Modification of Prior Divorce Decree. Obtained primary custody for Client (mom) and 2 children; court lifted geographic restriction to allow mom to move back to Alaska with children.

May 2007 Represented father in arrears. Obtained reduction of child support amount from $1,500 to $500; reduced arrearage from $12,500 to $6,000 in Mediation

May 2007 Represented father who won temporary custody of twin 10 month old babies

May 2007 Represented father and obtained reduced child support order from the requested amount of $700 to $400 monthly through Attorney General hearing.

May 2007 Represented mother in Attorney General hearing and won custody and child support order of $850 monthly

April 2007 Represented Grandmother who won custody of 3 year old granddaughter

March 2007 Won custody for symbolic father of prior girlfriend's 2 children. Currently seeking adoption over objection of biological mother and biological father.

February 2007, Divorce: Temporary Orders (obtained $15,000 cash for spouse and beyond standard visitation)

February 2007, Defend Protective Order (successful return of child to mother taken by father, father claimed mother was abusive)

January 2007, SAPCR/Adoption: Writ of Habeus Corpus (return of children to parent taken against court order by mother)

January 2007, Divorce: Temporary Orders, (father named primary custodial parent of children)

January 2007, SAPCR: Temporary Orders, (represented father ... mother required to move back from Arkansas and establish residency in Austin, Tx with the children

December 2006, SAPCR: Custody Modification From Prior Divorce (successful enforcement of geographical restriction)

December 2006, SAPCR: Writ of Habeus Corpus (successful return of children removed illegally by parent to Houston)

November 2006, SAPCR (successful return of children to mother)

September 2006 Divorce/Custody: Writ of Habeus Corpus (successful return of children illegally abducted by parent to california)

September 2006, Child Support and Custody Modification (obtained order of child support at less than guidelines, avoided retroactive support for client)

September 2006, Child Support and Custody (client awarded primary custody and above guidelines child support)

August 2006, Attorney General Child Support (obatined child support award less than guidlines for father)

August 2006, Uncle Adoption of Niece and Nephew

July 2006, Child Support and Custody (obtained primary custody for client and guidelines child support)

July 2006, Step-Parent Adoption

July 2006, Grand Parent Intervention in Custody Case (client was mother and grandparents only received one weekend per year)

July 2006, Defend Protective Order (succesfully defeated protective order)

June 2006. Represented Father. Wife filed application for Protective Order to keep father away from Children. We immediately filed a divorce action and obtained temporary orders in advance (2 days) of the hearing on the Protective Order. Due to temporary orders being in place, Judge dismissed Wife’s application for the Protective Order. Father was granted Joint Managing Conservatorship over the children and standard visitation.

March 2006, SAPCR: Custody (client was mother. Abusive father's visitation rights suspended, required to take drug tests and undergo rehab)

February 2006, Divorce & Protective Order (defeated protective order & obtained immediate visitaiton for father)

February 2006, Attorney General Child Support (obtained abatement of father's child support obligation for 6 months to allow father to complete trade school)

2004 - 2005 Many, many cases involving Child Protective Services and Child Support through the Attorney General's Office
